LIBRARY TECHNICIAN POSITION

Bulletin No. L11-3 June 29, 2010

Polson School Library Technician

.50 Time 7 hours/day (days 2, 4, 6 - 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.)

10 months per year

Effective-Aug. 30/10

Duties:

In accordance with the general job description for library technicians

Qualifications:

  • Library and Information Technology Diploma, Library Technician or Library Training Program Certificate, or a demonstrated commitment to complete such training required
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with teachers and students
  • Experience working in a school library required, knowledge & skill in working with automated library systems an asset
  • Proficiency in computers (knowledge of Internet search/upkeep) an asset

Candidates from CUPE 3873 will be given first priority. Consideration for this position is not necessarily limited to those who apply.

Salary range:

Class A - $17.39-$20.16 per hour

Class B - $18.50-$21.25 per hour

SNC Lavalin is currently recruiting for a Document Control Manager to join our Winnipeg office as part of the

CentrePort Project
 

Suitable candidates will have previous experience working in a Document Control position, ideally with experience in setting up large scale projects from the beginning.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary responsibilities would be managing the Document Control Process for a large scale Engineering Project. The Document Control Manager will:

 

  • Implement an electronic document control and file sharing system based on SNC Lavalin’s software.
  • Oversee any modifications required to tailor the document control program to the project.
  • Implement the process through the entire project team of designers and contractors.
  • Interface with the Client’s Extranet site.
  • Integrate the requirements of the Quality, Safety and T&C departments in to the program.
  • Work within existing SNC-Lavalin processes and procedures to create then maintain an electronic and paper Document Control infrastructure
  • Date stamp incoming documents, Copy, File and Distribute documents.
  • Collect reviewed documents for Document Control processing
  • File and log in CDs
  • Support reproduction services coordination with outside copy companies
  • Participate in all audits as required, being cognizant of appropriate plans, policies and procedures and respond effectively to corrective actions.
  • Maintain a professional relationship with all persons from whom documents are received and to whom they are distributed, as appropriate, to effectively communicate information
  • As the project evolves, further duties may be added to this role including, but not limited to; data entry and preparation of courier packages, etc.
     

Some travel to Vancouver and overtime may be required to meet project demands

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Previous Document Control experience on a large Engineering Project
  • Computer and software skills
  • Attention to Detail is essential
  • Natural ability to organize large amounts of documentation
  • Ability to manage changing priorities and to work to deadlines
  • An understanding of all MS Office tools
  • Post Secondary Education
  • Library Technician experience will also be relevant for this position
